JAS - GD808
I still dream of an alternate reality where cutting edge SAAB cars inspired by the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen were produced here in Trollhättan. Cars that could compete in the LeMans Prototype class and be homologated for eventual road use. There's so much history, value and potential in the SAAB brand that I still nurture the hope of a revival some day. "Ed Gray
SAAB's been doing it for years, mashing up airplanes and cars. The first prototype was built 30 meters underground at a secret airplane factory and that heritage has been part of SAAB design ever since, from wing shaped profiles to wrap around cockpits.
This JAS design continues that fine tradition by borrowing as many elements from the modern JAS 39 Gripen fighter jet as possible. From the forward mounted glass cockpit to the vortex pods at the rear of the car to control the wake of the airflow, the JAS is a veritable street fighter with the aeronautical credentials of one of the greatest modern jets.
