Convoy Mode
By coupling vehicles together in transit reduces the total drag of each vehicle and therefore increases the efficiency of the journey. It also has the benefit of being allowed to designate a driver to drive home after parties and dropping the tailing vehicles off at their respective homes.
Streamlined Design
Aerodynamics has long been the focus of the car industry's efforts to cut down on drag and increase the mileage of their products. This trend will never reverse and the technology and and instruments used to improve the aerodynamics of vehicles will of course advance in parallel to the efforts to find alternative sources of energy to power them.
Holographic Display
The holosphere traffic display system was a concept developed for the Peugeot MagLev Design competition entry. In essence the holosphere display units are capable of displaying various types of information of a 3d nature, for example a holographic conversation while on autopilot or a 3d map of the area. In this instance it is used as a traffic indicator giving the driver awareness of the surrounding traffic and eliminating the need for mirrors and cameras.
Variable Profile Tyres
Low friction, High traction
A system to reduce friction in straight line driving whilst increasing traction in cornering and braking. Revolutionary in it's simplicity.
The system works by adding an extra linkage into the wheels and allowing a servo to adjust the camber while driving. Central to the functioning of the concept is the tyres profile as you can see below. The asymmetric design allows for the tyres to roll on the harder, narrow central part of the trye in straight line travel and lay down lots of rubber for cornering and braking.
